SUBMIT DATA
Thank you for your interest in publishing your data with the
SAPRI Data Centre. The SAPRI Data Centre is hosted at the uLwazi Node (the Data and Information Management node) of the South African Environmental Observation Network (SAEON). uLwazi (meaning ‘knowledge’) curates data and develops open data systems and applications, which are distributed on an Open Data Platform (ODP).
HOW TO SUBMIT DATA
If you would like to submit data to be published in the SAPRI Data Centre, please email: annetreasure@sun.ac.za and CC the Curation Team at SAEON uLwazi: curation@saeon.nrf.ac.za
You will be asked to complete a metadata form and possibly a Data Management Plan (DMP) depending on the size and/or complexity of your data submission.
Inter-institutional agreements such as MoUs might be necessary depending on factors such as the size of the data submission, development work required, etc. This is assessed on a case-by-case basis.
The basic data submission workflow process is as follows:
OBTAINING A DOI FOR YOUR DATA
SAEON is able to issue Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) for published datasets through DataCite, making the data available in international catalogues. All datasets with DOIs have quality assured metadata and can be cited in scholarly publications.
